The hiring process for dentists
You may apply for a job offer, which we have published or register with us as a candidate (job seeker) to be considered for any future job offer fitting with your profile.
During the hiring process you will gradually learn more about the job, the dental clinic, the town and living in Denmark. This information will help you when deciding if you should accept a job offer or not. We want you to be successful and happy in Denmark. If you are not, then you will not stay and everyone will lose – you, the dental clinic and we.
Should you be considered for a vacancy, then you will be doing video interviews and will later be offered a visit to the dental clinic behind the job offer. During the visit you will meet the clinic manager and possibly the team members. You will also see the clinic and have some time to get to know the town and surroundings. If everyone is happy, then you will sign a contract with the clinic and our Danish partner company will apply for your authorisation to work as a dentist in Denmark. Once everything is ready, you will relocate to Denmark and start working there.
Job Opportunities
Basic information about our job offers for dentists
Our job offers for dentists have a common base:
- For employed dentists
- The contracts are with Danish privately-owned dental clinics.
- Contracts are permanent and full-time.
- From the beginning, a monthly gross salary of at least DKK 50.000 (€6.700) including pension scheme contribution. Later, you will receive a commission-based salary resulting in a 30-50% pay rise.
- For clinic owners
- You will take over an existing dental clinic with its customer base.
- The option of paid assistance from our Danish partner company with administrative tasks and more.
- 37 hours work week and 6 weeks of paid holidays.
- The dentist authorisation process will be taken care of for you.
- Assistance with the relocation to Denmark and spouse job search assistance.
Requirements
We have a few requirements which apply for all candidates. They are:
- University degree in odontology
- from an EU member state or …
- from a non-EU country.
In this case the university degree needs to be homologated by an EU country and you will also need to have obtained at least 3 years of experience as a dentist after obtaining the homologation and in the EU country which homologated your university degree.
We need you to be willing to start the process of obtaining a Danish authorisation before there is any job offer.
- An English level of at least B2 (upper-intermediate)
- Citizen of a European Union member state.
- Preferably at least 2 years of experience as a dentist.
- You are motivated for living and working abroad.

FAQ
For whom will I be working?
We offer two types of positions:
- You work for a private dental clinic under a permanent, full-time contract.
- You become the owner of an existing private dental clinic.
I am very interested in a specific speciality (e.g. orthodontics) and want to do at least some work in that area. What do I do?
Just apply for any job offer we have published complying with your expectations or sign up with us to be considered for any job offers in your area of specialisation. When signing up, please indicate your area(s) of interest.
Do I need to speak Danish?
No, but you will need to learn Danish. Depending on your future employer there are several options:
- You start learning Danish before relocating to Denmark through an online course paid by the Danish dental clinic for which you will be working.
- You relocate to Denmark and start working, communicating with patients and colleagues in English. Once you are in Denmark you start learning Danish. Your Danish lessons may be paid by your employer or they may be free Danish lessons offered by your local county.
Do I need a Danish work permit and visa?
No. We require you to be a European Union citizen, because this gives you the right to relocate to Denmark and work there.
Do I need a Danish authorisation to work as a dentist?
Yes, you will need an authorisation to work as a dentist in Denmark. However, this will be taken care of by our Danish partner company. You will only need to provide our partner with the information and documentation needed to apply for the authorisation.
My degree in odontology is from another EU country. Does that make things easier?
It certainly does. If your degree is from an EU country, then the process of obtaining an authorisation in Denmark is straightforward (and will be taken care of by our Danish partner company).
My degree in odontology os from a non-EU country. Does that make things more difficult?
Yes, in that case obtaining a Dansh authorisation becomes more complicated, even though it is still possible in some cases. To obtain the authorisation to work as a dentist, we need you to:
- have your degree in dentistry homologated by another EU country.
- have at least 3 years of work experience from that other EU country after obtaining the homologation of your degree.
- be willing to start the process of obtaining a Danish authorisation before there is any job offer. This is because obtaining the authorisation may take e.g., 6 months longer for a dentist with a non-EU university degree and most dental clinics will not wait that long for their new employee. We and our partner company in Denmark will help you through the authorisation process for free.
