Our Candidates

We continuously receive CVs from candidates who are interested in working in Denmark. They either apply for jobs posted by Look Abroad! or they register in our candidate database to be considered for future job offers in Denmark matching their competences and interests. While each candidate is an individual with her own background and motivation, we would like to share some general information about our candidates.

Motivation

Technology

Salary

Decentralised management style

Work-life balance

Our candidates are all highly motivated for working and living in Denmark. Their motives are, however, very different. Many are looking for learning through working with state-of-the-art technology and work processes. Salary is another factor and the Danish decentralised management style is yet another. In recent years, candidates have focused more on work-life balance. This is true not just for candidates having a family, but also for young singles who insist on their right to have a life outside of work.

Some candidates already have some link to Denmark, which increases the likelihood of them staying there. They include EU candidates who have studied or are studying in Denmark (typically through the Erasmus programme) and those who already have family or friends in Denmark.

Demographics

Origen

We work with candidates from Denmark (including international engineers, who already live in Denmark), Spain (where Look Abroad! is based), the European Union, and from around the world. The latter group includes candidates from the US, Canada and Australia.

Family status

We are in touch with both fairly young and more experienced candidates, the younger ones being a majority. There are candidates planning to move to Denmark alone, and others planning a change with their partner or even children.

Languages

All of our candidates have an English level of at least B2, while very few of them have any knowledge of Danish. Many speak another main language.
